Dr. Hickman completed his first degree, a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Carleton University in his hometown of Ottawa, Canada. Soon after he moved to Australia to study dentistry at the University of Sydney. Having lived and worked around the Sydney area Dr. Hickman decided a change of scenery was needed in order to experience life that was a little more ‘Australian’. In early 2011 he moved to Darwin to join Dr. Ean Ong and the team at Laser Dentistry.
Dr. Hickman brings with him a dental philosophy rooted in the preservation of tooth structure. He prefers to focus on prevention, early intervention, and cosmetics, but understands that due to a number of reasons early intervention is not always possible with all patients. In these cases Dr. Hickman takes great pride in rehabilitating and stabilising a patient’s oral health while trying to protect as much natural tooth structure as possible.
