Welcome!
Dr. Hickman completed his first degree, a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Carleton University in his hometown of Ottawa, Canada. Soon after, he moved to Australia to study dentistry at the University of Sydney. Upon graduating, Dr. Hickman moved to Darwin to experience life in a remote area and to help hone his skills. After his time outside of an urban centre, Dr. Hickman started to miss the faster paced lifestyle of Sydney and returned to join the team at Edgecliff Fine Dental.
Dr. Hickman brings with him a dental philosophy rooted in the preservation of tooth structure. He prefers to focus on prevention, early intervention, and cosmetics, but understands that due to a number of reasons early intervention is not always possible with all patients. In these cases Dr. Hickman takes great pride in rehabilitating and stabilising a patient’s oral health while trying to protect as much natural tooth structure as possible.
